Latin Base Find-a-Word

Beth was lying in her hospital bed, thinking about the past summer. She recalled the collision that took her mother. She remembered almost every detail vividly. She remembered the screeching sound of a car unable to stop fast enough, the tang of fresh blood, the crunching of glass as it rained down on her. She remembered the pounding in her head, the far away voice of the EMT saying something incoherent. She recalled when her father lost all composure, and knocked out the doctor. The loud voices causing a commotion in the waiting room. The police saying something about the corruption of wall street bankers.

Beth shook her head. She knew now that her mom was dead, she was going to live with her dad. It wasn't something she was looking forward to. Looking at her legs, she thought about the damage that had been done to her face. The long pink scar curling from her temple to the edge of her chin. Her stitches had only been taken out the other day, and she constantly found herself running her hand over it. She sighed, shoving her legs off the side of her bed she gathered her courage. Time to face the world.
